Our Performers - 2006 Season

Here you can find our performers gallery

With a brand new Stage Show called "The Courtesan's Arts; or Aspects of Love," we plan to take the Faire season by storm and at the very least have a wonderful time performing together. We hope you join us at one of the faires! For exact dates, check the "What's New" page. (All images copyright 2003-2006 Bella Donna except where noted.)

In 2005 we added several new performers; Kendra Van Kleave, Linda Wenzelburger and Jennifer Erlichman.  These actors have honoured us by continuing to be part of Bella Donna for 2006. Last year we tested out dual roles as both courtesans and household, but found that our strength lies in settling into our characters and working with them both in improvisation and in set pieces. Linda Wenzelburger as Chiara Vespucci continues to add her considerable singing and dancing talents to the mix. Kendra Van Kleave (Angelica "La Tempesta") has used her experience in Living History and costuming as well as administrative talents to become not only a skilled performer, but our Faire Liason. Jennifer Erlichman; Lucrezia, continues working on the mandolin as well as being a talented costumer and singer. Shawna Spiteri (Rosetta Caravello) has become our Musical Director and Shawna's ready wit, beauty and charm make her a wonderful candidate in the role of a courtesan. Dany Slone reprises the amusing housekeeper/sister in law to Seresina; Magdelena d'Hiverno she'll be with us for the Golden Gate Renaissance Faire with her new beau; Darieum (Domenico.) Jwlhyfer de Winter; Seresina Olivia d'Hiverno comes back again as the "head" of the household.

This wonderful ensemble of actors makes it possible for us to have a strong presence at Faires. Everyone's time and dedication to learning the new material has paid off wonderfully. We've come a long way since last year. We look forward to seeing you at some of our performances.

If you are interested in joining Bella Donna, please see the Members page for information.

Shawna Spiteri returns this year as Rosetta, now a courtesan. She is a talented singer, harper and all around wit, as well as having a degree in Musical Theatre. Here she plays a period harp known as a "Gothic" harp. Similar harps can be founds in portraits from the period. While this harp was going out of fashion, it would have been the most sensible choice for a travelling courtesan.

Dany Slone will reprising her role as Seresina's companion; Magdelena d'Iverno. Dany is an an award winning costumer and plays the viola and bass. She hopes to bring her musical talent to the group in the next few years, but for now she plays the role of sister-in-law, keeper of the keys and household to Seresina

Kendra Van Kleave will be joining us this year as the courtesan "La Tempesta." Her costuming abilities as well as her experince at Dickens Faires and other events make her an ideal addition to Bella Donna.

Linda Wenzelburger reprizes her role as the courtesan Chiara Vespucci.

Jennifer Erlichman returns this year as Lucrezia. Her musical skills and enthusiasm will certainly add a lot to the group.
